r4v3r23 submits CCS proposal for ANONERO v1.0 rewrite

r4v3r23¹ has submitted a CCS proposal² looking to secure funding for the complete rewrite of ANONERO v1.0³ - the black box Monero app which includes ANON (the offline wallet)⁴ and NERO (the online wallet)⁵:

Migrating our codebase to Android’s native language Kotlin with Jetpack Compose UI. [..] Instead of guesstimating work hours and giving an hourly rate, we are asking for an amount that will guarantee funding for the entire wallet rewrite.

Proposed funding: 199.265 XMR.

ETA: TBD.

Milestones

• M1: 39.853 XMR (20%) paid upfront upon funding
• M2: 79.706 XMR (40%) paid upon release of first test build (corresponding to v0.5)
• M3: 79.706 XMR (40%) paid upon final feature-complete release

It is worth noting that the ANONERO project has delivered the first fully airgapped DIY XMR hardware wallet cold storage solution⁶ and contributed to Monero directly and indirectly multiple times⁷’⁸’⁹.

The proposal comes ~2 months after the reported postponement of the 1.0 release¹⁰.
