Kraken to discontinue XMR support in Germany on July 10 2024

Kraken¹ has announced plans² to discontinue support for Monero and other crypto assets, for clients in Germany, on July 10 2024:

Kraken powered by DLT Finance will support a slightly reduced set of assets and Opt-in Rewards services. [..] Verified clients’ unsupported assets, if not actioned before July 10, 2024, will be set to withdrawal-only mode and unstaked or opted-out, if applicable.

Consult the associated support articles³ to learn how Kraken’s recently announced stragegic partnership⁴ with DLT Finance⁵ will affect clients in Germany.

Users are advised to exchange any unsupported assets to supported assets (e.g. BTC/EUR) or withdraw to an external wallet/platform before the July 10 deadline.

It is worth mentioning that Kraken will also delist XMR from their platform for clients in Belgium and Ireland on June 10 2024, as reported last month⁶.

Note that the list of unsupported assets is subject to change, according to Kraken’s announcement.
