kayabaNerve submits CCS proposal to write 'finality layer' book
kayabaNerve1 has submitted a CCS proposal2 looking to write a book about finality layers3, which might help prevent Monero blockchain deep reorganizations if ever implemented:
Summarizing here, a finality layer would be a secondary network parallel to Monero which decides Monero blocks to finalize. Once a Monero block is finalized, it’d be unable to be reorganized out of the best chain, preventing deep reorganizations. [..] The book would be made available as a web resource (such as Read the Docs) for accessibility, and to track updates via Git.
Total funding: 200 XMR.
ETA: September (end of).
Consult this week’s MRL meeting logs4 to learn more about ongoing discussions related to the potential introduction of non POW consensus mechanisms, which is a highly controversial topic.
