Francois Villon submits CCS proposal to develop Monero plugin for Shopify
Francois Villon1 has submitted their first CCS proposal2 looking to develop a non-custodial Monero payment gateway plugin for Shopify3:
The plugin will allow Shopify merchants to accept XMR directly into their own wallets without intermediaries, KYC, or custodial risk – enabling true peer-to-peer e-commerce. [..] The plugin will be developed as a Shopify App using the Shopify Payments API, interfacing with a local or remote Monero wallet RPC.
Total funding: 120 XMR (420 hours)
ETA: ~13 weeks (Nov 10 2026)
Milestones overview
- M1: Research and architecture design (18 XMR, 2 weeks)
- M2: Core plugin development (60 XMR, 6 weeks)
- M3: Testing and security audit (30 XMR, 3 weeks)
- M4: Documentation and public release (12 XMR, 2 weeks)
The proposer is a full-stack developer that has apparently built the Speedingfile4 platform and manages the Berndpulch5 project.
