## Meeting logs
```
boog900: 1) greetings
```
```
redsh4de: hola
```
```
boog900: 2) updates
```
```
boog900: I am back working on Cuprate again. Currently finishing up tree building
```
```
redsh4de: submitted a workspace PR to unbork CI, and a PR enabling serving of pruned blocks if peers want them
```
```
boog900: will review those 2 soon
```
```
boog900: 3) Project: What is next for Cuprate?
```
```
boog900: I don't have anything I want to discuss today
```
```
boog900: does anyone else want to discuss anything?
```
```
p4xxus: hi, I've looked a bit into the create\_block\_template implementation and tried porting relevant stuff (needed for running monero oxides CI via cuprate) to rust
haven't opened a separate issue yet
```
```
gingeropolous: p2p PoW for handshake like woh
```
```
p4xxus: I want to get to a semi working state, then I can open a PR or sth
```
```
boog900: have you done tx pool tx selection yet?
```
```
p4xxus: > <@boog900:monero.social> Nice did you just copy monero's algorithm?
yes
```
```
p4xxus: skipped unrelevanr parts
```
```
boog900: Ah OK fair
```
```
boog900: I think p2pool has a better one but we can change it later
```
```
boog900: Thanks for working on this
```
```
boog900: > <@gingeropolous:monero.social> p2p PoW for handshake like woh
Woh?
```
```
redsh4de: Id want to investigate how we can further reduce latency and improve speed of various parts of Cuprate - avoiding wasted work, repeating the same work within the same operation, finding missed parallelization opportunities, etc. Even if minuscule, over time small gains can compound and help with scaling
605 is kind of a part of that effort, there were also a couple of PRs merged to monerod that improve perf of some specific systems - like the 6x faster zero amount commitment that i dont think we share, would be worth looking into if theres anything else we can do
```

```
```
boog900: Yeah fair, although I added that faster amount commitment in the tree building changes I am adding
```
```
redsh4de: Oh nice
```
```
boog900: There are certainly places we can improve although they probably will not improve the performance of the node that much
```
```
boog900: But it doesn't really make it faster, at least on my PC.
```
```
boog900: But I won't say no to PRs improving performance of subsystems
```
```
redsh4de: fairs, i def dont expect a drastic change either given that the crypto operations dwarf everything else, and thats more monero-oxide territory atp
```
```
redsh4de: perf is perf tho
```
```
boog900: Yeah and with fcmp that'll only get worse :)
```
```
boog900: Or better for us given we can handle the extra load better
```
```
boog900: Anything else to discuss today?
```
```
syntheticbird: hi
```
```
syntheticbird: no update from my parts
```
```
syntheticbird: i swear i'll rebase rpc pt3 and website this thursday pinky promise i swear i swear i swear i swear i swear i swear i swear
```
```
redsh4de: i was just abt to ask :D
```
```
boog900: I think we can end here
```
```
boog900: thanks everyone
```
```
boog900: !meeting
```
